Guys, do you need date ideas? This list should keep you occupied for as long as it takes to get to know your girl. And the point of a date isn't the activity; it's who you're with!

- Summer Concerts at Big Spring Park in Huntsville, most every Monday in the summer. Free!

- Swing dance or salsa lessons. Lowe Mill.

- Hikes on multiple trails around town. You can even go to Chattanooga or central Tennessee and make it into a day trip. Points for good conversations in the car!

- Go to church fellowships, game nights, conferences, etc. your church has. If you drive there together and hang out the whole time, it's like a date! Maybe grab ice cream on the way home!

- Trash Pandas. Baseball games are classic fun, they sometimes have fireworks, and I hear The Berm is extra fun.

- Trivia Night at a Mexican restaurant or Mellow Mushroom.

- A destination restaurant. Change things up and go somewhere unique in Chattanooga, Suwanee,  or Florence.

- Seasonal events are perfect. Everything from Christmas concerts to corn mazes to Fourth of July fireworks. Communities have something every season! www.rocketcitymom.com is a clean website that lists many of these events.

- Check out events in nearby towns. Franklin, TN has a cool Christmas market, Chattanooga has a Christian music festival, for starters.

- Paddleboarding on the Tennessee River or kayaking on the Flint, followed by a picnic on the riverbank. You don't need paddleboards or kayaks--you can rent them right there.

- Pumpkin patches ring in the fall! She'll love it if you give her a pumpkin and carve both of your names on it.

- Cook a meal or grill steaks at your house, and invite friends to enjoy it with you!

- Go to The Overlook on Cecil Ashburn. Be prepared to be seen by others!

- Miniature golf. Putt putt your way into each other's hearts ;)

- Walk around downtown, look in the old stores, and get pizza.

- Balloon Glows in Decatur on Memorial Day weekend. Ahhh. A favorite.

- Havoc hockey games. Check ahead--they're popular for a reason and often sell out!

- A Farmer's Market. Multiple locations during the summer. Buy some items for her and let her take them home. (Hey, isn't that what Boaz did for Ruth?)

- Go to a dance. Contradances are popular in certain circles. Dance every dance with her so she doesn't stress out!

- Volunteer at Manna House together. Make a difference.

- Serve somewhere in your church together. A good way to see what the other person is really like.

- Ice skating. Might even give you a smooth opportunity to hold hands? ;)

- Bowling. Fun and retro.

- Movies? Meh. Guys and girls often like different movies and watching a screen doesn't help you get to know a girl. But a movie is a good backup for emergencies.

- Planetarium trip one night up on Monte Sano. Check their schedule for details.

- Charming small towns like Guntersville or Athens are fun to walk around! Ice cream and coffee shops abound.

- Family time. What??? Yep. Get to know her family if possible, and let her get to know your family. Most people want their loved one happily married. Get to know them!

- Canoes can be rented at Guntersville state park and Wheeler state park. Hope you don't tip over, but if you do, maybe you can rescue her!

- Split a large milkshake at The Yard Milkshake Bar at Stovehouse.

- Homemade pizzas! Go to the grocery store, grab pizza makings, and come back home to make pizza!

- Apple picking in the fall. If you can't find an orchard nearby, find one within a few hours and make a day trip.

- Tulip picking at Hubert Farms. A smidge pricy, but definitely memorable and ladies love this kind of thing.

This is just the beginning. Ask God for good ideas too! Getting the girl is worth the effort, and you'll have fun in the process.
